Hong Kong Island - 7 Day Itinerary
This Hong Kong Island itinerary can take you on a trip of diverse wonderful sights and you will feel like coming back for another visit. Hong Kong offers an old world charm of rich Chinese culture and tradition, harmoniously side by side with all the modern day attractions.
Day one: Museums
Take the Museum Shuttle to get a taste of Hong Kong's vivid culture and fascinating history. This will take you through multiple museums covering diverse subjects like antiques, heritage, history, art, science, space and importantly Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum.
Day 2: Victoria Harbour area
Victoria Harbour is a natural harbour, and a very busy and important area in Hong Kong. It is called the jewel of Hong Kong, with mountains on all sides, and the best way to explore and enjoy the best harbour views is to take a ride on the Star Ferry. A cruise at night is a good option to enjoy the magnificent multimedia show A Symphony of Lights.
Day 3: Aberdeen
A visit to Aberdeen should include a visit to Pok Lam Country Park and the exciting Peak Tram funicular railway trip to the summit. Victoria Peak is 552 meters high. The bustling Victoria Harbour, the South China Sea, Kowloon Peninsula and New Territories all look breathtakingly beautiful from this vantage point. Aberdeen Country Park and Tin Hau Temple also attract many visitors.
Day 4: Gardens & Parks
There are many parks to visit like Hong Kong National Geopark, Zoological & Botanical Park, Hong Kong Park, Victoria Park, and Kadoorie Farm and Botanical Gardens.
Day 5: Marine parks
There are four marine parks you can visit in Hong Kong. Yan Chau Tong, Hoi Ha Wan, Tung Ping Chau, and Sha Chau-Lung Kwu Chau. Each one has unique flora, fauna, and marine life and all offer swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and sailing. If you are an underwater photography enthusiast, then these marine parks are not to be missed.
Day 6: "The Hong Kong Story"
This is a guided tour about Hong Kong sapnning the history from 400 million years ago to the recent return of Chinese rule. There are eight galleries on two floors of the Hong Kong Museum with a sound and light show worth seeing.
Day 7: New territories
New Territories is a storehouse of all Hong Kong's past glory. There are many buildings with magnificent and unique architecture, exquisite hand carvings and opulent interiors to take visitors back to rich and fascinating past glory of China.
And finally, there are so many local shopping areas, malls and interesting places that you certainly would like to come for a return visit.
